Karate techniques incorporated with essential motor skills for 3&4 year olds. The curriculum includes balance, memory, team work, coordination, focus, and other age specific skills training. Often young children want to do what the big kids do but don’t have the essential motor skills. This class teaches those while building self-esteem and respect for self and others. This class teaches those while building self-esteem and respect for self and others through the art of Cheezic Tang Soo Do.

New Kids Only - Dynamic karate techniques taught with an emphasis on kicks, punches, blocks, coordination, patterns of movement, and bullying prevention. Situational self-defense will be taught so our youngest can avoid conflict.  This class teaches the components listed while building self-esteem and respect for self and others through the art of Cheezic Tang Soo Do.Students with Belts Only - This class is for students who have attended a belt graduation and have an existing belt.  It is designed to have students develop into the more structured Cheezic Tang Soo Do karate program once they turn 7 years old.

6:15 PM - 7:15 PM    Karate for Beginners Ages 7-Adult - Winter 1
The Watertown Parks and Recreation Department offers a Karate program from 6:15 pm – 7:15 pm. A traditional karate program for ages 7 to adult, the style of Karate we study is Tang Soo Do, a Korean based martial art. In addition to learning techniques, board breaking, forms and exercise patterns, the class focuses on self-esteem, character building, respect for self and others, proper approaches to competition and general life skills for today’s child.  Parents are encouraged to begin training at the same time as their child-great family activity!  Participants should wear loose fitting clothing, such as sweat pants and t-shirts. 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM    Basic 1st Aid/CPR Adult, Child/Infant and AED - CPR & AED
This course combines the American Heart Association First Aid and Heart Saver CPR with AED for Adults, Infants and Children. Participants learn first aid basics and show proficiency in skills. No written test is required. Participants receive a two year certification card. This class meets the requirements for anyone needed to be trained in Adult First Aid. The CPR course teaches what to do in a life threatening emergency. These emergencies include not breathing, choking and cardiac arrest (heart stopping) which occurs mostly in or near home. Sudden infant death syndrome and prevention of injuries and choking in infants and children will be discussed. With the knowledge and skills in this course participants will learn the warning signs of heart attack, stroke, cardiac arrest choking and breathing difficulties; CPR and relief of choking for adults, children and infants. This course has a skills exam and no written test. Participants will receive an AHA Heart Saver two year certification card. Text purchase is not necessary if recertifying.

Parents come connect with other parents of young children with special needs while your kids get a chance to play and socialize in a semi-structured environment directed by a License Behavior Analyst.  Playgroup for children ages 1 through 3 with special needs and their siblings provides activities to strengthen fine and gross motor skills, increase communication and encourage socialization and creative play. Please bring your own snack and drink.

American Heart Association Babysitting course for any- one 10 years old and older. The class will offer students the necessary tools to become a reliable and safe babysitter. Students will learn basic childcare, safety precautions, child development, appropriate toys and more. Students will receive a handbook with all information needed to serve as a reference. Participants have to meet requirements of the course to receive certification. At the conclusion of the babysitting classes there will be a course on Pediatric CPR and First Aid.

Karate techniques incorporated with essential motor skills for 3&4 year olds. The curriculum includes balance, memory, team work, coordination, focus, and other age specific skills training. Often young children want to do what the big kids do but don’t have the essential motor skills. This class teaches those while building self-esteem and respect for self and others. This class teaches those while building self-esteem and respect for self and others through the art of Cheezic Tang Soo Do.

New Kids Only - Dynamic karate techniques taught with an emphasis on kicks, punches, blocks, coordination, patterns of movement, and bullying prevention. Situational self-defense will be taught so our youngest can avoid conflict.  This class teaches the components listed while building self-esteem and respect for self and others through the art of Cheezic Tang Soo Do.Students with Belts Only - This class is for students who have attended a belt graduation and have an existing belt.  It is designed to have students develop into the more structured Cheezic Tang Soo Do karate program once they turn 7 years old.

The Watertown Parks and Recreation Department offers a Karate program from 6:15 pm – 7:15 pm. A traditional karate program for ages 7 to adult, the style of Karate we study is Tang Soo Do, a Korean based martial art. In addition to learning techniques, board breaking, forms and exercise patterns, the class focuses on self-esteem, character building, respect for self and others, proper approaches to competition and general life skills for today’s child.  Parents are encouraged to begin training at the same time as their child-great family activity!  Participants should wear loose fitting clothing, such as sweat pants and t-shirts. Parents come connect with other parents of young children with special needs while your kids get a chance to play and socialize in a semi-structured environment directed by a License Behavior Analyst.  Playgroup for children ages 1 through 3 with special needs and their siblings provides activities to strengthen fine and gross motor skills, increase communication and encourage socialization and creative play. Please bring your own snack and drink.

8:30 AM - 4:30 PM    1-Day Safe Boating & Personal Watercraft Safety Certification - Session 1
A complete, updated safe boating certification course taught in one (8 hour) day. This class includes the newest requirement for towing skiers & tubes. Successful completion will allow the student to purchase a Connecticut Certificate of Personal Watercraft Operation with Water ski endorsement, which enables them to operate any recreational vessel up to 65 feet in length, with some age restrictions for younger operators. An easy to understand classroom format is designed for students age 12 and over. PRIOR TO TAKING THIS CLASS each student should create an account online at https://www.ct.wildlifelicense.com/internetsales, and click the START button. Create an account if you don’t already have one, and then print the page that includes your Conservation ID number and bring it to class. Once we have entered your score in the DEEP system you will use your account to purchase & print the certificate after the class.

This $10/kit includes a visit from the Easter Bunny (quick photo with your own camera), 15 toy filled eggs, pencil, stuffed animal and an Easter craft. The Easter Bunny will deliver the kits to Watertown/Oakville residents only on Saturday, April 1st any time between 10am-1pm. The exact schedule will be available when we get closer to the date.
