Winter Weather Policy


In case of inclement weather the Parks and Recreation Department has the
following Winter Weather Policy:

If the Watertown Public Schools are closed for the day, then the Parks and
Recreation activities are cancelled for the day.

Delayed opening: If Watertown Public Schools have a delayed opening, then all morning classes are cancelled.

Early dismissal: If Watertown Public Schools are dismissed early, then all
afternoon and evening activities are cancelled.

Cancellations are posted on:
1. Parks and Rec Website as an “Alert”
2. Town’s Website (you can also subscribe to the cancellation emails that will
be sent to you directly)
3. Facebook page (Watertown Parks-Rec Dept)
4. Cancellation Info-Line at (860)945-5272

Every effort will be made to make up cancelled activities, but a make-up is not
guaranteed. Classes cancelled due to circumstances beyond the control of the Parks & Recreation Dept will not be made up or refunded.
