COVID-19 Policies & Procedures

During the COVID-19 pandemic our first priority is the health and safety of the participants and
staff. We will closely follow and monitor all CDC and State of CT guidelines.

Health Screening:
All staff and children are required to be screened for any observable illness, including cough or
respiratory distress and to confirm temperature below 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Screening includes
assessing health by taking temperature.

Staff or children who have a temperature greater than 100 degrees will not be admitted into the
camp.

When conducting screening the health screener will be wearing personal protective equipment
(PPE) when evaluating the children.

If a child becomes ill or develops an elevated temperature they will be moved to a designated
“sick room” and the parents will be called immediately to pick up their child.

Use of Face Coverings:
All counselors and professional staff will be wearing face masks at ALL times throughout the
camp day.

Campers will not be required to wear masks, however parents may send masks with their children
to camp if preferred.

Hand Hygiene:
For staff and children regular hand washing with soap and water for at least 20 seconds should be
done:

Before coming in contact with any child.

Before and after eating.

After sneezing, coughing or nose blowing.

After using the restroom.

Before handling food.

After touching or cleaning surfaces that may be contaminated.

After using any shared equipment.

Soap and water and/or alcohol based hand sanitizer will be available.

Hand washing breaks (along with water breaks) will be mandatory throughout the day with no
exceptions.

We urge parents to provide their child with their own snack, lunch, water bottle and a bottle of
hand sanitizer as extra precaution. These should not be shared with other campers.
Please teach your child to wash their hands for a minimum of 20 seconds before they come to
camp.

Respiratory Hygiene:
All staff; cover coughs and sneezes with tissues or the corner of the elbow.

Encourage children to do the same.

Dispose of soiled tissues immediately after use.

Campers will be encouraged not to touch their face, mouth and eyes throughout the day.

Disinfection and Cleaning:
Each program area will be THOROUGHLY sprayed and wiped down after each group leaves the
area.

All equipment will be sanitized during the day as needed and sprayed and wiped down
THOROUGHLY at the end of the day.

Social Distancing:
Each group will be placed in separate group meeting areas away from other campers and will
participate in activities only with members of their group. There will be a rotation between
activity areas throughout the day.

During snack and lunch times the campers and staff will observe social distancing. Sharing of
food and drink will be prohibited.

Counselors and campers will not be in physical contact with each other. Such as high fives,
handshakes, fist bumps and hugs.

Upon Arrival:
No contact check-in/check-out. Parents will check in their child from 6 feet away verbally
acknowledging campers name for attendance purposes.

There will be a designated area to keep all the campers' belongings 6 feet apart.

Bathroom Policy:
Campers making trips to the bathroom will be supervised by a counselor. Bathrooms will be
regularly sanitized heavily throughout the day.
